Why
Choose
Out For Adventure Wilderness Tours
For Your Adventure Holiday?
We are
obviously biased in our opinion in that we feel we offer the absolute
best product for your money. But we are very confident that the products
we have developed are the best value for your money and have designed
this page to help you compare our tours to our competitors.
Let's first assume that a few of the top companies all say some of the
same things, such as that they supply gourmet food, quality gear and
good guides.
We feel that the following facts are the base-line of any quality
adventure vacation.
1/
Out For Adventure uses top quality tents and gear.
2/ Out For Adventure uses the best quality makes of kayaks.
3/ Out For Adventure serves incredible gourmet food that we have become
known for, and quite frankly, take great pride in maintaining that high
standard for our tours. We eat better on tours than we do at home!
4/ Out For Adventure has some of the best guides in the industry.
5/ Out For Adventure has intimate knowledge of the areas we run our
tours into.
OK,
that about covers the standard points that many companies claim to have
on their side and this is where we feel Out For Adventure leaves the
competition and sets the bar for the industry.
In this
industry many companies operate only seasonally and usually from the
owner's home. Out For Adventure operates year round with two industrial
units, one of which is a retail store selling kayaks and kayaking gear
as well as other outdoor related products. Deal with the confidence of
being able to walk into our retail store to speak with someone face to
face about your tour requirements.
Value for the Money
This is one of the most important factors when most people plan an
adventure vacation. The staff at Out For Adventure Wilderness Tours
develops our tours with "value added" services and perks. For instance,
our Kayaking With Orcas Base Camp includes a marine tour by water taxi
to and from our camp so as to increase your chance of seeing wildlife on
the way. Our Kayaking With Orcas Expedition includes a water taxi ride
to our first camp so that it is a one way tour - no back tracking. Our
multi-sport adventure includes accommodation at a high quality local
resort.
Located in British Columbia
We live on Quadra Island, British Columbia and paddle these very
waters that we take our guests into. This is in true eco-tourism style.

Practice no-trace camping as
encouraged by the government and all environmental conservation
groups (no permanent buildings, showers, toilets etc)
Lets face it, this is supposed to be the eco-tourism industry,
yet some companies are cutting bush and building complicated
base camps in our wilderness. |
We
know of no base camp operation that is adhering to this strict
but necessary protocol.
There are only a few companies
appear to be selling a similar tour to our
Kayak with Orca
Base Camp
and
all do not practice no-trace camping by setting up structures
and platforms even without government approval. In the future,
we feel that all will be required to operate in a no-trace
camping manner. |
|
We have the lowest cost per day for
any tour even similar to ours - this is an important point.
Divide the total tour cost by the total number of days to get
this figure. |
Some
of the competition continually raise the price of their Orca
kayaking tours. A few companies are charging almost twice as
much as Out For Adventure for similar tours that don't have our
value added products. |

Save
about $250 on travel! The ultimate place to view Killer Whales
is Johnstone Strait, but to get there can be expensive - with
our Kayaking with Orcas tours, the departure point is far to the
south at Quadra Island/Campbell River saving you about $250 Cad
more than getting to Port McNeil would cost. |
A
few offer similar tours departing from southerly destinations,
but note - a trip that departs from Vancouver will mean that
your first and last day is spent in a van enduring a long and
arduous drive to your launch point. |
